New Show At
Martini Blues In November 2005!
Get more info on our
Show Info page. We have
a new show coming up on Saturday, November 19th, 2005, at
Martini
Blues SupperClub in Huntington Beach. This is our
second
performance at Martini Blues, and we're thrilled that Bobby (and
Donna), and co-owners Wayne and Darlene asked us back for
another great show! Fact is, for those who were unable to
attend, we packed the place in September with a record crowd,
and had a great time.
This time we're
looking to repeat that performance, and to give our fans what
they always expect... more Bang For Their Buck, and lots of fun!
In an unprecedented arrangement, we're teamed up with the great
southern-blues rock outfit, Jimmy Steiger's Blues Connection,
for a show with alternating sets between the two bands in
Martini Blues' Legends Room. We look forward to another
great show, and to seeing all of our great friends and fans, as
well as any newcomers, right there, up close and personal.
Legends Room only holds 130 people, so be sure to be there early
for the very best seating!
JUST $10 at
the door!!!
DON'T MISS IT!

Two Shows Coming
In September 2005! Yeah!
Get more info on our
Show Info page, get the flyer and print one up to take to your
friends and co-workers on our Flyers page, and get info on
buying tickets here on this page to the left of this column.
the Undecided will
be performing at two shows in September, and we urge everyone to
come out to both shows. WHY? Well, it's simple
really. If we don't produce a sizeable audience, then the
clubs are not that eager to have us back. Sales is what
makes the world go around, and when we produce larger and better
audiences for the club owners and managers, they are more
inclined to let us perform at the hotter shows, or to come back
and play again.
So, first off, we'll
be doing a cool show at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano
with that awesome rock outfit, The Smithereens, who had a number
of hits in circulation on the radio in the 1980's and early
1990's. Songs like The Blues Before And After, A Girl Like
You, Only A Memory, Blood And Roses, Behind The Wall Of Sleep,
and Yesterday's Girl are all stirring, rockin' tunes that became
radio staples. This show will be on Friday, September 9th, 2005
and tickets are only $17.50 per person.
See info at left on
getting tickets!
Our second show in
September will be on Saturday, September 17th, 2005, at
Martini
Blues SupperClub in Huntington Beach. This is our first
performance at Martini Blues, and owner Bobby Cee has agreed to
put us in rotation there once every two months if we can
consistently pack the house. Capacity there in the Legends
Room is approximately 170 persons. Hopefully this will be
the first of many more shows to come there. For this show,
we will be featuring our good friends in Bluefish, followed by
Let's Eat (a 25 year reunion featuring Roger Ellis [drums] and
Steve Hagar [bass] of Bluefish, with Deborah Rose Novak [lead
vocals and guitar] and Tom Bellone [keyboards] of 'the
Undecided' and Michael Davenport [guitar] ), and finally, a show
by 'the Undecided'. A grand finale is also being planned,
but you will have to attend to find out what it is! We
will be selling tickets for this show, or you can pay at the
door. Advance tickets are $10 and $12 at the
door.

Unprecidented
Ticket Sales For
Berlin Show
Continue!
They May Not Last Long At This Rate!
100 tickets for the
Berlin show arrived in our hands on Monday, January 17th.
Within 3 weeks they were already sold! So, we ordered
another 50 tickets. We got them just a few days ago, and now
they too are nearly all sold out already. We've ordered yet
another 50, but not sure if we'll get any after that. These
sales are unprecidented, and obviously shows that Berlin still has
plenty of fans in the area. We urge you get your tickets
early to insure you have a seat at the show! See the
instructions in the left panel for mailing your checks if you
won't be able to meet up with a band member in person.

Danny Gray,
recording engineer from
West Moon Studios,
enlisted to record
'the Undecided'
at the Berlin
show 'LIVE'!
Danny Gray, of West
Moons Studios (see link on our Links page) has been enlisted to do
a 'LIVE' recording of 'the Undecided' at the Berlin show on March
19th. The band plans to 'unleash' some new and revamped
material at this show, along with some of the more familiar songs,
and it is that new material that the band wants to focus on
recording. The purpose is to use the LIVE recorded material
to finish up the CD that the band has been working on for the last
year.
"We may even put a
LIVE version of one or two of the songs we've already recorded in
the studio on the new CD if everything comes out well," says
drummer, Bill McFadden. Lead guitar player, Bil Ruiz, had
suggested leaving the existing songs as is, with just Debbie,
Bill, John and Bil on the tracks. Those songs were released
on a mini-CD in October at the Coach House show with Johnny
Winter. The LIVE recordings will include new keyboard
player, Tom Bellone, and therefore will mark Tom's introduction to
the band, and and band's transition to a five-piece band with
keyboards.

Welcome Tom
Bellone on
Keyboards!
We are proud to
welcome back long-time friend and former band-mate, Tom Bellone,
who will likely be playing keyboards for us at shows in the near
future. We have begun
rehearsals with Tom, and expect he will be up to speed with the
band's material very soon. In fact, we look forward to
debuting with Tom on keys, at this writing, on March 19th, 2005 in
our upcoming show with Berlin at the Coach House. Check out

Johnny
Winter & 'the Undecided' Rock the House!
With nearly the last
year spent working on recording our first CD, and Deb's
recuperation from surgery on her thumb, it felt great to get back
up on stage and perform again! And, it was great to see some
of our most steady fans, while greeting some new ones as well.
Further, we were extremely happy to have in the audience our
longtime friend and former band mate, Mr. Tom Bellone, whom we
have not seen for a few years. Tom was accompanied by the
lovely, Dr. Jeanne Moore, with whom he shares a handsome 23 year
old son, Ethan. For those of you who
do not know, Tom is an exceptional keyboard player who performed
with Deborah for many years in Let's Eat, and later with Deb, Bill
McFadden, and Steve Hagar. Also in the house, was
the former guitarist from Let's Eat, the ever-dapper and handsome,
Michael Davenport. Both of these guys would help us make the
music even better, if only we could talk them into joining the
lineup... do you hear me guys?!? Many people keep suggesting
a reawakening/reincarnation of Let's Eat! :)
Although ticket sales
were fairly disappointing for this show, in relation to sales for previous
shows at the Coach House, there were some reasons, which you the
fans expressed for that. Many people were unhappy with the
fact that the show was on a Friday, citing their lack of time to get home from work, get
ready, and then drive down to San Juan Capistrano amidst Friday
traffic. Others bemoaned the almost $30 ticket price.
Still others, did not remember who Johnny Winter was... at least until
reminded via the titles of some of his songs.
Surprisingly, some did not know who he was at all.
Regardless, the house was very near full, thanks to good house
sales, and things heated up
very nicely.
Field Of Vision, the
winners of the 2002 Orange County Music Award's Best Rockers
opened the show. They played a rousing set to warm the house
up and get people ready for things to come. I talked briefly
to the bass player, guitar player and singer, and all were very
nice young people. They did a great job, I thought, and I am
sure we'll see more of them in the future. Not everyone agreed,
but you know, I have to give these kids a lot of credit... it
isn't easy to get up there and play to a house of strangers.
And, seeing as how they sold even less tickets than we did, that
is exactly what they played to. I give them big points for
bravery and enthusiasm... experience will come with time.
Next Up, 'the Undecided'...
and as usual, we played our hearts out to the
crowd! We love putting out lots of energy, mixed with fun, and enthusiasm for the
one thing that counts most... THE FANS! Many of you asked
what the heck was going on during our first song. We're not sure what was going
on with the sound system during our opening number, Hold On, but
it appears that the sound crew was playing someone's CD along with our
performance over the main P.A. system. Unfortunately, no
one seemed to notice until our first song ended, and the "other
music" could clearly be heard playing along. Oops!
Anyway, in spite of it all, we had a great time, we played a good
set, got lots of enthusiastic applause, and revved the house up to see
Johnny Winter. Johnny and his crew put on a great
show, got a couple of standing ovations, and Johnny is just plain
impressive... even at 60!!! If you missed the show, you missed out... plain and
simple.

Band Was Side-Lined By Singer's Tendon Troubles,
Now Getting
Ready To Rock!
A tendon problem in Deborah's thumb, which caused it to lock
in a folded down position, prevented the band from performing
for the last several months.
The condition rendered Deb unable to play guitar, which she
does along with vocal duties on much of the band's original
material. Recently, Deborah underwent surgery to correct
the problem, and is now undergoing physical therapy to recover
the normal use of her thumb. The band has begun
rehearsing again to get ready for the next performance
opportunity, and is scanning the Coach House and Galaxy
Theatre schedules for the right shows to consider.

Coach House Performance With Billy Vera, The Undecided, and
Kettle Black Is A Stand-Out Show!
Saturday,
October 18, 2003 yielded yet another great time at the Coach House for "the Undecided"
and their friends and fans. And, it was a reunion show of
sorts, since the band had performed previously with Billy Vera and
his crew back in the mid-80's at the original Golden Bear, across
from the pier in Huntington Beach, Ca. If you missed this
show, you missed another hot one!

Coach House
Performance With
Wishbone Ash,
The Undecided
and
Bluefish
Draws Large Crowd, Much Applause!
Our
Saturday, August 23, 2003 performance at the Coach House drew a
large crowd, and was a huge success for "the Undecided" and their
friends and fans. The band, along with former bandmates and
friends in Bluefish, and headliners the legendary Wishbone Ash,
performed to a very enthusiastic crowd and a near-capacity filled
house. Appearing first, "the Undecided" took the stage
and began their set with a pumped up and heart-pounding rendition
of "Hold On", one of several original tunes. The crowd
responded with loud and enthusiastic applause, to the obvious
delight of the band, which set the tone for the rest of the show.
While every song drew similar and overwhelming responses, there
were highlights as well. Deborah's gut-wrenching delivery of
the ladies' favorite "Think Twice", along with Bil Ruiz's blazing
guitar solo in same, as Deborah sexily moved her body next to his,
and then dropped to her knees at his side, absolutely had the
audience hooting and howling for more! The bottom line?
If you missed this show, you missed one of the great ones!
The Coach House management and staff were friendly and absolutely
great to work with, and they were very pleased with our ticket
sales and performance. We will definitely be seeking another
opportunity to perform at the Coach House, and or the Galaxy
Theatre, in the near future. Stay Tuned!

the
Undecided To Make Debut At The Coach House - Opening For
Wishbone Ash in August!
Well, they say
history repeats itself, and I suppose in some sense this
reaffirms that assertion... John, Bil, Debbie and
myself (Bill McFadden), along with Jim Jensen, made our debut as
a show band back in 1984 under the name The Deborah Rose Band at
the legendary old Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, Ca.
Now, through a generous and very considerate offer from the
members of Bluefish, two of whom are former bandmates of ours
(Steve Hagar and Roger Ellis, both formerly of Let's Eat, with
Steve also formerly of Maxband) along with Kathy Ellis, we have
been asked to join Bluefish in a show opening for the legendary
Wishbone Ash on Saturday, August 23, 2003, at the Coach House
concert and dinner hall in San Juan Capistrano, Ca.
Suggested ticket prices are $15.00, and we will make an
additional announcement when the tickets are in our possession
and are available for sale. Watch your emails, and if you
have anyone else you think might be interested, submit
their email address
and we will put them on the mailing list too.... STAY TUNED...
